KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS
WET PUMPING
Key benefits of Edwards RV12 vacuum pump for “wet” applications:
Highest vapor pumping capacity of any rotary vane pump
Unique mode selector switch means pump maintains lubrication at high flow
Highest gas ballast flow of any rotary vane pump giving 220g/hr (290g/hr on RV12) water vapor handling capacity
Optional oil return kit to ensure the oil stays in the pump at high flow
For applications where the solvents/vapors are incompatible with fluoroelastomer (FKM) seals, a nitrile (Buna-N) conversion kit is available. Additionally PFPE prepared pumps may be ordered if pumping large quantities of oxidants.
DUSTY
Key benefits of Edwards RV12 vacuum pump for “dusty” applications
Best in class anti-suck back protection to prevent dust getting back into the process
Controlled opening by oil pressure to eliminate pressure surge
Rapid closing within 0.4 seconds of pump stopping due to dump valve
Large diameter oil passages (3-5mm) to avoid clogging
Some competitor pumps have oil passages of less than 1mm diameter
Designed using experience of PVD and CVD applications from the semiconductor industry, Edwards range of RV pumps are ideal for dusty applications.
CLEAN/DRY
Key benefits of Edwards RV12 vacuum pump for clean/dry applications
Unique mode selector switch means pump maintains lubrication at high flow
Optional oil return kit to ensure the oil stays in the pump at high flow
Best in class anti-suck back protection to prevent oil mist getting back into the process
Controlled opening by oil pressure to eliminate pressure surge
Rapid closing within 0.4 seconds of pump stopping due to dump valve
The patented mode selector means that the pump is equally happy in either high vacuum applications or high throughput applications. For the latter an optional oil return kit can be fitted that allows the pump to operate continuously at high throughput without losing all its oil down the exhaust line.
OXIDANTS
Key benefits of Edwards RV12 vacuum pump for pumping oxidants:
Highest gas ballast of any rotary vane pump
Allows dilution of pumped gases to minimize oxidation of the oil
PFPE variants available
Ideal for pumping oxygen and halogenated compound
The high gas ballast of the RV pumps allows higher flows of oxygen whilst maintaining dilution to below the lower explosive limit. When combined with the optional oil return kit to prevent the gas ballast from blowing all the oil into the exhaust and a PFPE prepared pump to avoid oxidation of the oil, the RV pump makes a solid pump for oxygen. Equally these same features make the RV pumps ideal for pumping other oxidants such as halogens and halogenated compounds. For these compounds fire/explosion is not an issue, but a gas ballast is still useful for dilution to protect the oil and bearings. PFPE should be used to prolong oil life.
